June 2010

Tracey Ingram - Institute of Accent Modification

Tracey Ingram, an NASE Member from Chicago, Illinois, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in June 2010. Ingram founded the Institute of Accent Modification in 2009. The Institute of Accent Modification specializes in communication and accent-neutralization workshops for foreign-born health professionals. Ingram plans to use the grant to hire and train two new staff members. 

 

May 2010

Ronald Gregory - G2 Media

Ronald Gregory, an NASE Member from Rockville, Maryland, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in May 2010. Gregory founded G2 Media in 2002. G2 Media provides creative design, production and development services to small and medium-sized businesses. Gregory plans to use the grant  to purchase a new computer system to enhance the firm's overall graphic design and add post-production capabilities. 


Andrea Robertson - Fight Call, LLC
Andrea Robertson, an NASE Member from Phoenix, Arizona, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in May 2010. Robertson founded Fight Call, LLC in 2006. Fight Call provides professional stage combat education and fight direction for individuals, educational institutions, theatres and filmmakers. Robertson plans to use the grant to obtain certification as a stage combat instructor from the Society of American Fight Directors, the largest stage combat organization in the world.


April 2010

Diana McCaslin - MedLinks Transcription, Inc.

Diana McCaslin, an NASE Member from Jackson, Tennessee, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in April 2010. McCaslin, along with business partners Amy Smith and Traci White, founded MedLinks Transcription, Inc. in 2005. MedLinks Transcription, Inc. provides dictation-to-transcription services to various medical facilities. McCaslin, Smith and White plan to use the grant for marketing and to attend medical management conferences.



March 2010

Nicole Pulley - Interior Affairs

Nicole Pulley, an NASE Member from San Antonio, Texas, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in March 2010. Pulley founded Interior Affairs in 2006. Interior Affairs, an interior decorating firm, specializes in interior design and decorating services for the multi-family housing industry. Pulley plans to use the grant to hire a student from a local college pursuing a degree in interior design, and to increase advertising efforts.


Jeffrey Wynn and Linda Condy - Condy and Wynn Original Woodworking and Furniture Design

Jeffrey Wynn, an NASE Member from Spring City, Pennsylvania, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in March 2010. Wynn, and his wife, Linda Condy, founded Condy and Wynn Original Woodworking and Furniture Design in 1985. Condy and Wynn Original Woodworking and Furniture Design designs and crafts original commissioned furniture with fine hard woods and traditional joinery. Wynn and Condy plan to use the grant to build a solar kiln.

 

December 2009

Gwen and James Arrigon - Beckett Run Inc.
Gwen Arrigon, an NASE Member from Hamilton, Ohio, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in December 2009. Arrigon, and her husband, James, founded Beckett Run, Inc. in 1986. Beckett Run, a teaching and show training stable, provides horse boarding and riding lessons, collegiate and high school equestrian team coaching, as well as horse show management and equestrian event production. The Arrigons plan to use the grant for new equipment, improvements to their show facility and advertising.


Carl Leonard - Fogle’s Asphalt Sealing

Carl Leonard, an NASE Member from Walkersville, Maryland, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in December 2009. Leonard has owned Fogle’s Asphalt Sealing since 2002. Fogle’s Asphalt Sealing provides asphalt sealing, paving and repair for residential, commercial and government clients. Leonard plans to use the grant to purchase a commercial line painting machine.


Lesley Rackowski - Pillowcasegram & Other Things LLC
Lesley Rackowski, an NASE Member from Westfield, New York, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in December 2009. Rackowski founded Pillowcasegram & Other Things, LLC, in 2007, selling custom pillowcases online. In 2008 Rackowski expanded the business with a retail store selling pillowcases and fabrics, and opened an additional retail location in 2009. Rackowski plans to use the grant to create a new Web site for selling Pillowcasegram's fabrics, in addition to pillowcases, online.


Nancy Ritchie - Cranial Tap, Inc.
Nancy Ritchie, an NASE Member from Sterling, Virginia, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in December 2009. Founded in 2006, Cranial Tap, Inc. develops innovative virtual world environments and solutions for businesses, organizations and academia. The grant will be used to redesign Cranial Tap’s Web site to showcase the company’s capabilities as a cutting edge virtual world solutions provider.

 

November 2009

Gaylene Mann - Curves of Dallas
Gaylene Mann, an NASE Member from Dallas, Oregon, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in November 2009. Mann has owned and operated Curves of Dallas, a women's fitness franchise location, since 2006. Mann became the owner and operator of another Curves facility in 2001, and sold that location in 2008. The Curves of Dallas facility is the only women-centered fitness facility in the Dallas area. Mann plans to use the grant to hire and train a Marketing Assistant/ Circuit Trainer and to purchase a stretching station.


Tyler Madsen - Born Again Homes
Tyler Madsen, an NASE Member from Ellis, Idaho, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in November 2009. Madsen founded Born Again Homes, a general contracting firm, in 2003. Born Again Homes offers superior construction services in roofing, flooring, kitchen and bath remodels to residential homeowners, realtors and personal investment properties. Madsen plans to use the grant for advertising to help expand the business into neighboring counties and for new equipment to allow Madsen and an employee to be working at two sites simultaneously.



October 2009

Aaron Degler - Degler Design, Inc.
Aaron Degler, an NASE Member from Saint Charles, Illinois, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in October 2009. Degler founded Degler Design, Inc. in 2006. Degler Design, Inc. is a full-service landscape architectural design firm, providing services to residential, commercial and light industrial clients. Degler plans to use the grant to increase online marketing efforts.


Mary Miles - MG Accounting and Tax Service, LLC
Mary Miles, an NASE Member from Alpharetta, Georgia, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in October 2009. Miles founded MG Accounting and Tax Service, LLC in 2005 as a seasonal business. By 2006 an increasing number of clients led Miles to establish the company as an LLC, and she has been operating the business full time since then. MG Accounting and Tax Service, LLC aims to provide professional and quality accounting and tax services to all clients, with a focus on small businesses. Miles plans to use the grant for new software and office equipment as well as increased marketing efforts.


Zane Homesley - Goshawk Environmental Consulting, Inc.
Zane Homesley, an NASE Member from Austin, Texas, was awarded an NASE Business Development Grant in October 2009. Homesley founded Goshawk Environmental Consulting, Inc. in 2005. Goshawk Environmental Consulting, Inc. provides services such as threatened and endangered species assessments, storm water pollution prevention plans, and federal, state, and local regulatory permitting assistance among others to clients nationwide. Homesley plans to use the grant to design and develop a new Web site for the firm.
