From Advocating on Pro-Small Business Policy to Offering Key Resources for Running a Business, NASE Supports the American Worker’s Dream of Becoming Their Own Boss

WASHINGTON, D.C. – With a record-breaking surge of over 10 million new small business applications to the Small Business Administration in the course of the last few years, Keith Hall, president and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community, today applauded the American small business community’s perseverance and determination for choosing to step out on their own instead of traditional W-2 employment.

“Coming out of a devastating pandemic, the American worker experienced a new employment environment offering them the flexibility and opportunity to start their own small business rather than continue with traditional W-2 employment.  This has led to  a record-shattering surge throughout the self-employment demographic and we are committed to giving those businesses a voice,” said Keith Hall, president and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community. “Throughout the last few years, many voluntarily or were forced to choose a different path and chose to step out on their own rather than into an unemployment line. These existing and new solo entrepreneurs represent the true entrepreneurial spirit of our newly transformed American workforce and welcome them into our growing membership of NASE small businesses.”

Hall recently was interviewed in a joint USA Today and Mediaplanet, Small Business Campaign. In the piece, Hall writes about the transformation of the American economy, the benefits of self-employment, and the support NASE continues to offer the community.

“Remember, you are not alone – there are resources out there from NASE.org to SBA.gov and IRS.gov – and countless small business support websites and groups available to assist you in your self-employment journey,” concluded Hall.

The NASE recently penned a guest piece in Inc. on the challenges still faced by those in the small business community. From tax assistance to business formation, NASE continues to gives voice and remains on the frontlines of supporting the American worker in their mission of starting and thriving in the operation of their own small business.
