“The voice of small business has never been more powerful. Across every political stripe, there is broad support for a thriving small business community. This National Small Business Week, we proudly salute the more than 20 million new entrepreneurs who have joined our ranks over the past three years, as well as the millions of existing small business owners who work tirelessly every day to create jobs and strengthen our economy, ” said Keith Hall, president and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation's leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses. “From every corner of the country to each side of Main Street, Americans are stepping out in record numbers to realize their true entrepreneurial dream by starting their own small business. They are unlocking the work-life flexibility that comes with operating their own small business while providing for their families and loved ones. ”
Hall was just featured in an American City Business Journal article entitled, “5 for '25: Five things to consider before you start your own business ” outlining the top considerations any new entrepreneur should consider before stepping out on their own and starting their own small business. Hall highlights the importance of having plan, prioritizing your time, opening separate financial accounts for your business, being mindful of cash management, and knowing there are resources out there for support in helping you.
“While we recognize the ups and downs of the economy—ongoing trade wars, ying-yang of tariffs, and their potential impact on our community—our advice for small business owners is to remain focused on running their businesses. Our community has proven its resilience time and again, as recently as the COVID-19 pandemic where we emerged as a leader in recovery. Technology continues to be a powerful tool in helping small business owners thrive and succeed, and I have no doubt they will continue to rise to the occasion, ” concluded Hall.
