Posted by Molly Nelson - Here's some exciting news this week about some help for small businesses by way of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Small Business Administration.
In an attempt to help the federal government reach its small-business procurement goals, the
DVA plans to award a five year, $5 billion services contract to three small-business prime contractors. These small businesses will have a maximum of 150 employees, and at least one will be owned by a disabled veteran.
Additionally, the SBA recently announced the
launch of the Early Stage Innovation Funds Initiative. The SBA plans to commit up to $1 billion to start-ups through the initiative over the next five years.
